I decided to download the release candidate of Ubuntu 8.10 and I found it’s pretty much like ubuntu 8.04 with more features added. But I’m still pretty interested with this new release of Ubuntu RC. I just gonna give a tour and simple introduction to the reader, just to know more what’s inside Ubuntu 8.10 and Kubuntu 8.10 .

I’m pretty impressed with the system mount archived in Ubuntu 8.10 , with a simple right click on the archive, you can select the “Open with ‘Archive Mounter’” option and you can peek a couple of files without extracting a files
I also found at the Kubuntu website, KDE 4 finally added inside Kubuntu 8.10 . That’s cool! Kubuntu use the Oxygen theme and icon as a default theme.
For the Intrepid Ibex, Ubuntu dev team has prepared more unbelievable features and they promised us a better wireless wireless connections just like what Mark Shuttleworth said:
“We want you to be able to move from the office, to the train, and home, staying connected all the way” .

I like the wallpaper, looks like a piece of art. I will try the liveCD but I’m not sure yet if I will upgrade from 8.04 since I only did a clean install a few months ago from 6.10. But 8.10 is looking good. Ubuntu has goals and this is another step towards those goals.
err.. I still like the dark theme that I saw in Ubuntu 8.10 alpha. It looked almost the same although there’s more features added. Kubuntu 8.10 looks nicer than kubuntu 8.04 and improved a lot. Like it. I think I will install ubuntu 8.10 . I already pre-ordered the CD’s of 8.10 , hope it will come fast.
