Hello, just announcing that I’m still ALIVE! I’m truly sorry for abandoning this site for a couple of month due the lack of my internet and also I have to sort a lot of things out. Well, because I already missed a lot of things in Linux world, its time to catching it up again.

1. Ubuntu 9.04 codename jaunty jackalope is finally released! Wow!! I even didn’t have a chance to tested the Intrepid Ibex, and now Jaunty Jackalope is already released. I’m downloading the Jaunty Jackalope now, and its near from finish. I have a lot of expectations with Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope, from the networking abilities to the renewal of the themes. Well, I will make the review in no time after I manage to install it inside my computer.

2. Server changes, thanks to Crylix, I finally got a new server with a higher specs. Crylix is offering a sponsorship program to all Linux blogs/websites.

3. PCLinuxOS 2009 is released! Bill Reynolds has announced the release of PCLinuxOS 2009.2, a beginner-friendly distribution and live CD for the desktop: “The quarterly ISO image updates of PCLinuxOS 2009.2 and PCLinuxOS GNOME 2009.2 are now available, featuring a fully updated ISO image with the latest applications from the PCLinuxOS repositories. Additional features include a notification updater to let you know when there are updates available for your installation. ‘Addlocale’ will localize your PCLinuxOS into one of the many languages. ‘GetOpenOffice’ allows you to install OpenOffice.org 3.1 in any of the 104 languages available.”

4. Pidgin 2.5.8 has been released! After a pretty long list of problems with the previous version of pidgin, especially with Yahoo messenger users(can’t connect to the server, no avatar, and the others), Pidgin came again with its new version 2.5.8.

5. Songbird 1.2 has been released! In 19 june 2009, Songbird can now automatically organize the files that are contained in your library. Once enabled, it will consolidate your media in one location. You can customize the structure of the folder and file names based on metadata contained in every track.

6. Mozilla Firefox 3.5 has been released! I will post more info and tutorial to install Firefox 3.5 in a short time.

7. VLC Media Player 1.0.0 has been released! VLC, the popular, cross-platform video player, finally reached version 1.0.0, under the codename ‘Goldeneye‘. I will post the tutorial to install it in a short time.
