Yeah, yet another great news(perhaps old one). If you could see the Gnome Release Schedule, there is an eye catching schedule to be released after Gnome 2.91
I thought most people are currently waiting for the new breakthrough from Gnome, which is Gnome 3.0. I’m personally pretty excited when I saw that Gnome 3.0 is listed and scheduled to be released on April 2011. I hope some of my expectations for Gnome 3.0 in year 2008 can be implemented into this upcoming new generation of Windows Manager.
Here is the screenshot of 3.0 release schedule:
And here is the first milestone release screenshot of gnome 3:
More information about Gnome 3.0 can be viewed on this website.
Just a quick update since I found something good to post. I found a really nice Ubuntu mockup, listed on Topaz Brainstorm, which mean that this is only a concept
Take a look at the picture, and try to interpret it by yourself
I think I already posted this entry before regarding to the Quicklook ala mac for Linux. There are 2 difference now from this review from the previous one. The first one is because I am now using Karmic and the second one is because I already tried it by myself.
Quick Look is the innovative technology that gives you a sneak peek of entire files — even multiple-page documents and video — without opening them. All you have to do is select a file in the Finder and press the Space bar. An elegant transparent window appears, showing you the contents of the file instantly. It’s great when you’re looking for something specific but don’t have time to open lots of files to find it. And now, a modified Quick Look software for Linux has comes! It called Gloobus .
Just by seeing the title, you already know what I meant. With this method, I assure you that you can put your video screen as favorites and get your desktop animated or put your favorite screen saver. Well, here are the installation tutorial, its really simple and what you have to do is follow the step that I’ve given. Here we go!
HP already introduced to people the new HP Mini 1000 Mi Edition to people and the interesting point about this netbook is it comes with Ubuntu 8.04. The most interesting point about this HP Netbook is that HP introduced a new cool theme for GNOME desktop. There’s a few UI changes in Elisa and integrated with harbour-launcher. It surely one of the most interesting User Interface that I’ve ever seen! And it’s also unique for a Netbook.
